This is a serious mega construction considering that you are completely in the middle of no where in Côte d'Ivoire, Africa... Its just insane! Totally worth the visit.

Anyone visiting Yamoussoukro must visit the Basilica -- a great experience. Amazing architecture, an engineering marvel.

The Basilica is the main, if not the only reason to come to Yamoussoukro. It doesn't mean the rest of the town has no charms, but of all the tourist traps in entire Côte d'Ivoire, this one certainly and deservedly takes number one spot.

The world's largest church is worth a visit. It is not expensive - 2000 per person (foreigners ) and additional 500 for camera. It is nice to have seen this great building - and the huge contrast to the rest of the city

Don't bother paying the fee to use your camera, you can take photos anyway.. Photos are allowed once you go up stairs, and it is possible to take great snaps.....the church is ...just big..very impressive !
