This was a trip like no other in Georgia. Visiting Chiatura was like stepping back in time that gave a taste of what it was like to live and work in the Soviet era. Ancient ski lifts that were operational up until 2019 dot the factory site. Was rather hoping to experience a ride but too late. Magnesium factory which would be seriously condemned in the West still operating and polluting the river running through the town black. (Similar styled, crumbling factories still operate in NW Armenia. producing copper). Interesting cave church and monestery. I was lucky to observe a service. Nice meal in a clean local restaurant with decent toilet! One could wander an old crumbling structure of an old Komsomol camp atop a hill. I was fascinated by the old style Soviet apartment blocks that are unbelievably still lived in and not just in Chiatura but throughout Georgia. Kiaski Pillar was a unique site. The skills taken to build a monastery atop a natural monolith long ago are staggering. Trip was finished with a trip to the Chronicles just outside Tbilisi admidst a lovely sunset. Great for picture taking. Irakli was a great guide. Informative, friendly and very helpful. I recommend this trip from a historical view. Totally different to any other trip!

This trip is a must! The stops were unique, beautiful, and authentic and our driver Irakli was great!!! From the get go coordination and communication with the company was smooth and accommodating, and the company was even able to add an extra stop to Vardzia per our request. Throughout the duration of the tour Irakli was engaging, professional, and knowledgeable. If you have more than a couple days in Georgia on your holiday, this tour is a must!

We absolutely loved this food and wine tour! Our tour guide was George and he was amazing - funny and a great personality. We had 5 stops, each were at authentic local places. A lot of food was provided at each stop, we were happily full at the end! The last stop is a great little wine bar in old Tbilisi where you can also buy local wines if you want. Not only did George provide us with a lot of information about the food (the correct way to eat, the history behind it etc) but along our walk he also had a lot of knowledge about the city and the history about the country. He also made sure we stopped at the marionette theatre along the way. We were 6 people on our tour - George said they aim to not have more than approx 6 ppl to make sure the tour is authentic and we can have better conversations. Meeting the others in our group was great fun too. I overall highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tbilisi - you won’t regret it!!

What an amazing experience. We booked a full weeks worth of tours with Real Georgia Tours and they definitely exceeded our expectations. We did a private tour with Temo to Kutaisi and was filled with history, beautiful Prometheus caves, climbing and walking through the Okatse canyon etc. Absolutely a must!
