Went today and was advised the gallery was open until 630. This wasn’t a language issue as the lady wrote it down on a piece of paper. At 540 we were being ushered out of the museum and told it was being locked up. When...More

The museum is a must see for its collection of Georgia's great painters: Niko Pirosmani, Lado Gudiashvili, Lado Gudiashvili... They curate pretty good shows sometimes, but I go there for my Pirosmani fix.

The national gallery has surprisingly few items on display, so it is a short visit. Still worth a visit to see Pirosmani pieces.

I stumbled upon this small gallery while walking through the 9th of April Park in late November 2017. The entire gallery is on the second floor and features a well-curated collection of three Georgian artists: Pirosmani, Gudiashvili & Kakabadze. This is a wonderful place to...More

Georgia's great painters works are stored and exhibited here. Also some of the modern artists works as well as sculpture and photography periodically are also exhibited at national gallery.

Had a great visit. We hired a guide. The only way to be here, in our opinion. Dimitri Shevardnadze is the other name of the museum
