You Can Visit Without Spending Much Money
Here are my view on N. Tower: Getting there: a lot of people take the cable car. Although it is scenic, it is expensive and crowded and no way to get around lines. There is also a free shuttle bus that leaves from Myeongdong Station but I think only goes to the base of where the cable car starts and only departs every 30 minutes. You could walk up the mountain from the cable car start but that will take you 45 minutes. My preferred way to go it to take the bus from Namsan Yeyang Bus Parking Lot (very close to Myeongdong Station). The bus ride is around 30 minutes but buses come every 7-10 minutes. Cost is 1,100 won. Once you get there, there is really no need to go up to the top. Admission is 21,000 won and you get better views at the base since no window/glass to reflect your pictures. All the instagram spots are at the base: the proposal bridge, etc. There are 5 floors of shops and restaurants at the base and you visit all these and walk around for free. If you do want to go to the top, I would recommend making a reservation at either Hancook (3F) or N Grill (7F). If you make a reservation at these restaurant, you can skip the line as you get a complementary lift ticket up to the top included in your meal price. Just go to the 5th floor of the base where they sell admission tickets, show them your reservation and then they will give you a lift ticket. You don't have to wait and you can go straight through. You will get to the 5F and then you either walk up or down to the restaurant. You can return to the observatory deck after dinner. If you are going to N Tower, I would recommend going around sunset so you can get day and night view. We walked down but if you are going to walk down, follow the cable car route and walk down...don't follow the bus route if you are living in Myeongdong. The night views are spectacular and if you walk down, there are many places where they have a platform where you can take pictures/enjoy the view.

    Breath taking scenes
A nice place to see panoramic view of Seoul even if you don't actually go to the top of the tower. The hill is so high (better wear comfortable showes due to steep slope). There are many restaurants at the top and fountains of drinking water. Two buses are going up numbers 1and 8001. Enjoy the view and you can easily spend a couple of hours up there.

    Good - but very crowded.
We pushed on to N Seoul Tower, sitting on Namsan Park mountain, offering a birds-eye view of the area and surrounding mountains. Travelled up on the local bus (crowded!) and back down on Cable Car (just as crowded!). Lots of people. Even watched a sword demonstration while there.

    Nice views, but pretty crowded
We went after dark, so maybe our experience was not the same as during the day, but the lines were longer than expected. This includes the cable car and the elevator to the top. We could still see the residual lines from sunset, so that is probably even busier. The views are nice, but the entire experience took several hours and we only spent like 15 minutes looking at the views. Also, at night the tower has significant bright lighting inside, which makes it harder to see outside the windows. If you do go, make sure to use the bathrooms in the observation deck. This was a highlight, especially for women.

A must see location for your first Seoul visit
I went during the day, the line for cable car was really long but it was a nice experience and great views. I then decided to but the observatory ticket but not sure it was worth it, it’s pretty expensive for what it is. You get to see gorgeous views from the area surrounding the tower so the observatory is not a must in my opinion. It was pretty crowded but the area is relatively big so it wasn’t uncomfortable. Really enjoyed just sitting on a bench looking at Seoul from the top. I’d say Namsan is a must if you’re visiting for the first time, but observatory is optional.

    Nice view though slightly expensive
The ticket prices are slightly expensive. The view is nice with distance from various countries labelled on the glasses to give an indication. The lift ride was relatively quick and entertaining as they played a short video which the ending coincide with the lift reaching its destination floor.

Do not hike up! Take a bus!
Didn't went up but went to the hot spot you always watch in drama- the park. It was freezing cold at 3 degree where cold snap was around. Take a bus up here and take the bus back down to the town. Don't try to walk up this it's insane 1 hour! The souvenir store was so so nothing much. You just get a view of Seoul at night that's all and the pretty lit up Namsan Tower.

    Worth a visit
I've only been here a nighttime previously, so I was interested to see what the view is like during the day. It was a lovely blue-sky day, so it was pretty good! It was relatively quiet when we went, so there was no need to wait in queues. I like the pagoda at the top, especially as it adds a bit of character...in my opinion. Worth noting here that although there are lifts, they will only take you so far, so it really isn't good for those with limited mobility or in wheelchairs. If you want to go up the actual tower, you have to pay. Overall therefore, it's pretty expensive.

    Good tower, worth a visit
We got a taxi to the base where the cable cars leave from. Cable car queue was a few flights of stairs, but they did allow the elevator for people with special needs. Cable car was very full. At the top do the hill, and base for the tower, there were a lot of stairs with no alternative to climbing them that I saw . The late afternoon queue was quick to get up to the tower observation deck. Cafe choice very limited at top of tower so we ended up meeting back down the bottom on the plaza. View was ok, visibility wasn’t too bad. Was actually quick to view the 360 then we went back down. Suit families. Worth a visit.

    Nice view.
Like many others, I took the bus to the top. I didn't see the cable car running. Few places to eat and many views without having to go to the top if you choose not too. The view from the top was nice, even on a foggy day.

The Korean Drama that left the biggest impact on Namsam Tower to me is Legend of the Blue Sea! If you're a fan like me, don't miss this!

Remember the scene when Sim Cheong told Heo Joon Jae to meet at Namsam Tower on the next first snow? She walked up the hill and he drove up but she got into an accident and didn't make it to the top. You definitely don't want to miss Heo Joon Jae. So let me share with you a tip: How to get to N Seoul Tower!

Search on Kakao Map/Google Map: Namsan Ormi Elevator (Bottom Entrance) in my opinion this is the easiest way to get up! The Elevator is like a tram train, you'll be able to enjoy the surrounding view on your way up. Then follow the crowd and you'll get to N Seoul Tower!

When leaving N Seoul Tower back to the city, i recommend to catch a bus to the nearest station depending on your next destination. The bus stop is just a stone throw away by walking down a short slope, do look out for bus stop signs :)

My family and I vacationed in Seoul for New year's Eve. We stayed at the millenium Hilton in front of Seoul station. we didn't know what to do for New year's Eve countdown. So we decided to climb the mountain directly in front of the millenium Hilton. At The summit is Seoul tower. From which you can see the New year's Eve fireworks from down below. The temperature was about minus 8 degrees Celsius. We bundled up around 11 p.m. and started up. The hike was very lovely. As you hike up you can see a beautiful a 360 view of the city of Seoul at night. It's not a hard hike. And there are art installations along the way. Including a strange love heart lock it installation. Apparently you can buy love heart lockets and write a message and lock it around these fences and other art installations along the mountain. At the top of the mountain there are cafes and gift shops. You can purchase tickets to go in to Seoul tower. We did not do that. Instead We got some hot chocolate and coffees and celebrated 2020 watching the fireworks from down below. The fireworks were very small from our vantage point and not that impressive. but overall it was a beautiful hike and an absolutely fantastic way to ring in the New year. It started to snow along the way as well but that made it all the more romantic and special. My teenage daughter took many pictures. We walked around with our hot drinks looked around the gift shops and then made our way back down as we started to feel the chill. I highly recommend this hike. I could not have imagined a better New year's Eve . It was perfect

from myeongdong, we walk uphil to the cable car station. it was 3PM in the afternoon. And once we arrive at the station, we need to wait in line for around 50 minutes before we can go up. it was quite a waste of time, considering the cable car ride was only 5 minutes.

then since we already bought the observatory tower ticket via Klook, then we go up directly. however to my surprise, the view from the deck was not that special.
so, its not worth the cost. You can see a better view without go up to the observatory tower.
and spend more time on the locks of love area which is cute.

we go down via shuttle bus to myeongdong, its way cheaper and time savings compare if you have to take the line to get the cable car.

Overpriced and long wait during peak hour. I had planned to view the sunset from the tower and opted to take the cable car up. Arrived at 5:15pm at the cable car station only to be surprised by the long queue. By the time it was sunset at 5:45 I had barely made it on the cable car and coincidentally enjoyed the sunset view on the cable car itself.
At the peak, was advised on 1 hour wait which turned out to be about 45minutes. The system is no efficient and you have no way of telling what your boarding number is without having to be at the boarding place. It could have been better if the numbers were placed in a screen near restaurants so people could catch a meal in peace. Finally reached the peak at about 6:30/6:45. There is another queue even pass the boarding number. And as you expect another queue on the way down.
Overall expenditure was 14,000Krw for the cable cars (return tic), 16,000Krw for the elevator up to the tower. Would recommend reaching at least 2 hours earlier if you want to catch sunset from the tower.

We went up the tower the day after it rained, which meant the air was clear and we had absolutely stunning views all the way round, especially over far into the mountains to the north. I imagine that had we gone later in the week when the smog started to creep back in, the views could have been quite disappointing. It was also reasonably priced and the gift shop actually had some good quality items, which was a nice surprise! I have knocked a star off as the little cable car that takes you to the base of the tower from the bottom of the hill was not working on the day we went and we had to take the stairs - not an issue for us, but if you have mobility problems, you would have been stuck!

Located on Namsan mountain in central Seoul, it's easy to get to. Just after dusk provides breathtaking views. You need to take the cable car up the plaza area. Here you will find lots of attraction like the "love locks" something similar to Paris, wishing pond, various observatory decks, food court, museum's and the entrance to the observatory tower itself which boasts of panoramic views of the city of Seoul. One of Seoul's must visit attractions.

Such a nice place for a walk and has a beautiful view! My husband and I went up by walking since I love hiking, but you can also decide to go up there using the cable car. They were also filming some kind of a K-drama at the top so we had to be quiet. Also, we used an app called Dealightme to get a discount for the tower entrance fee. I’m sure it would be a great experience where you can see beautiful sights of the whole city. Lastly, don’t forget to leave your “Lock of love” if you’re going there with your significant other!! xD

Firstly do not trust Google maps direction to get to the tower. It requires you to alight at a quiet bus stop n walk up aong walk up a hill.
Follow the directions on the website. It's more reliable.

The tower deck is not that big but it does provide you with a typical city view that must towers provide.

Do check out the toilets. It's a place where you can relieve yourself while admiring a city view.

Namsan Tower is known for many things: the cable car ride, the nice trekking at Namsan Park, the great aerial view of the city, museums and café.  At a height of almost 240m, the tower has an onservatory deck that offers an amazing view of the city. The iconic letter “N” was the result of the remodeling of the tower in 2005. Since then, the place is known as N Seoul Tower, with beautiful bright lights at night.
