Maybe I just don't appreciate the history as much as some people. It was neat spending an afternoon in Coptic Cairo, but I wouldn't say this was a must-see. Everyone else in my group thought it was great. I guess it just depends on what you like.

I was amazed at the workmanship of these pieces. Today with lasers I understand but for men to sit and work the stone into masterpieces is truly amazing. I would have liked to have watched it. Plan on 3 to 4 hours to truly enjoy.

It is an amazing place, and with very different spirit rather than all cairo, with alot of churches and old building, you must really visit it.

We enjoyed our Old City tour through Coptic Cairo. The highlight is the Hanging Church and should not be missed.

Apparently dedicated in the 11th c and rebuilt in the 18th. A pilgrimage site for Egyptians and non-Egyptians. Church contains relics of many saints. The site was busy relative to other tourist destinations. Wonderfully decorated.

Stop being a tourist and become a traveler. See the Coptic churches and Ben Ezra synagogue built where Moses was said to be taken from the rushes.

A pleasant easy stroll to see a fascinating area of Cairo. Compact and small ( A large area of it is a graveyard). Allow 1/2 a day to explore its quaint alleys and cool dark churches full of ancient Coptic saints. No ( well almost) hassling, tea tourist side at the entrance, or street food on the other side of... A good way to see a different side of Cairo. All attractions are located next to each other and right next to the metro station. The underground church next to the church of St. George is amazing. The church of St George is equally worth the visit. The coptic museum is a 'pass'. Didn't get to the Hanging Church as... More
