...”for restoration”, as a guard told me today (feb. 17, 2018). Truly disappointing. I wonder where you can find out more about WHEN it will finally open again (?)

There is a large gallery for contemporary art shows downstairs from the main attraction here, a comprehensive collection of Islamic pottery. Check if you can whether the museum has reopened!

I tried to bisit this museum in Mar.2017, but it was closed. Ot seems to have a good collection of ceramics.

As of July 2016, the museum is still closed for renovations. The guard advised that it will be closed for two years, though it's not clear when the clock started in that. Beautiful building, though, and it appears they may still use the grounds for...More

This place is just behind the Cairo Marriott hotel in Zamalek & though it was closed for 6 months (who knows why ?) the gardens were open & there are some lovely Egyptian sculptures & figurines in the garden which are worth a look at...More

It is a waste of money, the metro tickets. And then you thinking that it will be open you shouldn't go. But you could go there to see the hanging church. I didn't like it at all me and my brother were like " ahhhh".

The website showed it as open, but when I went by there yesterday, the guard said it had been closed for a month. The building look beautify from the outside, spit is disappointing that it is not open.

Unfortunately it seems that the Museum of Islamic Ceramics is closed. Seems it has not been ale to re open since the Revolution. I went there this morning but only the Gallery area is open. This area is used for exhibitions of local Cairo artists...More

Forget it, it is 25 March, 2018 Sunday - the guard said 2 more years - so stay put and don't waste time to get there unless interested in some modern art and the building from the outside - it is beautiful. But no ceramics... More
