I spent a day there visiting the monasteries, very rich Coptic history with religious atmosphere everywhere, monks there are very welcoming and you can buy lots of souvenirs

Quit area full ofnspirit religion and peace . like every thing buildings prayer peace food . it peaceful place to visit and learn about optic Christian life in Egypt. I will return again to that place.

So serene. Wonderful to see. Our guide had been a monk for 21 years and was so vibrant and interesting- an easy drive from Alexandria en route to Cairo

A great valley with many monasteries and churches...you can see the old architecture and in some monasteries there you can read the stories of the Saints...
