Entry fee of LE40. Not much to see except the Giant statue of Ramses II and a granite sphinx of Ramses II. This is best included in a day trip with Saqqara and or Dahshur

An interesting, if small, museum south of Cairo which can easily be combined with Saqqara and Dahshur. Main things to see are the statue of Rames II and a smaller version of the sphinx.

after seeing the egyptian antiquities museum or the pyramids or valley of kings ... this open air museum disappoints. can be given a miss or at the most a 30 min visit. the drive is quite long though.

The place is drab. Just a collection of sculptures moved here from other locations. No interpretation provided. The big sphinx outside was the only thing I found interesting.

It was really very different. The statue is laying down and you can look down on it. Numerous artifacts are present and are different.

Memphis museum is a bit out of the way but well worth visiting as much less crowded than other touristy places. It is small but has some well preserved statues including Rameses II and Sphinxes. If you have time I would recommend a visit as...More

When you are in the Cairo area I would recommend this visit , together with a visit to the oldest (first) pyramid of Djoser and Sakkara which are nearby, on the same day. Memphis is an hour driving south of Giza pyramids. it offers a...More

this is not a big place, however, the giant Ramesses statue is fascinating, as is the alabaster Sphinx in the middle of the courtyard. There are also other items of interest. Unfortunately the perimeter of the museum is pretty crappy. Trash is everywhere and does...More
