We were very excited to visit old captial of Memphis. However, it turned out to be disappointing. There is not much left to see (except one statue of Ramses the Great) as the city was neglected for centuries. Worth a miss!

An interesting museum with some very old pieces, statues and sphinxes. You can see the twin sister of Ramses II statue, wich is huge, even the legs are missing.

The museum is open air but there is shade from trees. There are some excellent peieces here and help inform the timeline of ancient Egypt. East to combine with a tour to Sakara and Dashur.
