Would highly recommend if you are in Cairo and have some time to kill. Definitely get one of the guides, we got one for about an hr and it was 50egp. Well worth it.

Beautiful Mosque. Too bad they can't clean it so you can see the true color of the alabaster. Too bad the grounds are so littered with garbage and too bad they can't be bothered to restore the adjacent palace

A beautiful location for sightseeing! Great views of the city and beautiful architecture! Well worth the visit... just don’t be bothered by the numerous individuals outside trying to sell you stupid crap!

the mosque and citadel must be visited to see the Islamic art and know the Islamic history besides the view of Cairo whether the old town or the new one from above is marvelous

The grandeur of this mosque with mesmerise you to the core. Whole of Cairo can be seen from the mosque which in itself is surreal experience.

It’s really a historic place that reflects one of the barely recent Egyptian eras, but it lacks being well presented because it’s operated by non professionals.no proper guidance is available, really nothing at all from operators side vs a very important place.

A great place to visit, you can feel peace and the spirit of history around you. the bad thing is that you can't stay more than 15-30 min in the mosque.

Very impressive mosque with a wonderful view of Cairo. Also visit the kalawon mosque shortly before and not to be missed if you have children, the museum of the armed forces (tanks on which to climb)

This was one of our yearly visit to Citadel of Saladin. Actual name is Salah Eldin Alayobi as pronounced in Arabic. The citadel is one of the landmarks in Cairo. It is nice to visit. Only problem is timing of the visit. In winter time...More
