The most disappointing thing in Egypt. To many cool things to see in Egypt but this is disappointing from a tourist, historical, and archaeological point of view. We booked it out and went to the Nubian village last minute which was worth it.

You'll most likely be asked if you want to do this by your cruise Guide and the answer is "yes". Get out there and enjoy the water, sand, sun and scenery!

Very interesting, not necessarily a must see site. If you do not have a guide, you are wasting your time. I enjoyed it, but site is not as well preserved.....a well informed guide is mandatory for understanding its significance. Museum recently reopened.

we went sailing down the Nile in a faluka, an old Egyptian sail boat, this was such a wonderful experience, loved the view and the afternoon. Thank you Mr. Abdalla Mohamed and Mr. Ali Eltaher for your guidance.

We stayed on the island and it was great. You can take a Felucca sail around the island. Do it at 4:30 pm and be there for the sunset.

Sailed right around the island in a small boat (felucca). Same sandy/ rocky terrain with a certain amount of greenery along the shoreline. Picturesque from the water.

Back in the mid to late 80's we used to go the Elephantine Isle for swimming and exploring the ruins and finding pottery shards from Pharaonic times....the locals would invite us in after a day faluka sailing with Admed and Abeeda....Nahed and I loved getting...More
