It was ok, but pretty much just another tourist trap. You can get there by boat directly or by boat and then a camel ride. Along the main road, there are many shops which pretty much sell the same types of stuff.

We visited Nubian village on package tour , which includes camel ride , village visit, local tea , picture with crocodile baby , henna tattooing, some local foods. Over all experience was good but expensive about 40 US$ . If you go on your own , from Aswan , you can do it economically. You have very good picture opportunities... More

The "village" is like any other Egyptian city's outskirts with markets selling the same tourist kitch as everywhere else. Yeah, the boat ride is nice, but you... More

Our tour began with a visit to a family home and a description of the lifestyle and beliefs. Didn't seem as stilted and choreographed as some of these usually seem to be. Once you leave the areas where the people live you enter the typical market area. Some nice sights, especially of the piles of colorful spices. Lunch in the... More

The village itself is a little touristy, but getting there is a blast. It's easy to commission a small motor boat from the main strip in Aswan and the trip along the water and past the first cataract makes for a beautiful afternoon. We ended up getting a bit shortchanged on the price by our tour operator, but I expect... More
