This is the main street along the River, lots of activity and the Luxor Temple is in the middle. I enjoyed the trek both ways, looking at the boats and carriages, plus all the folks begging for my business. (Okay, I got tired of all...More

Take a stroll along this Corniche, relax and take in the atmosphere of this magical Nile. We also take a felucca over to the otherside (west bank) Do it if you can.

The vendors here are not so nice and are aggressive. If you had a river cruise then you got to see the Nile so walking here does not add much. I prefer to head inland on the east bank and walk among the areas where...More

Nile banks, the river, the nature, the sunsets.. it’s all amazing - unfortunately you’ll enjoy none of that; maximum from the balcony of your hotel. People in Luxor are extremely desperate for any money they could make out of you and they are dangerously aggressive...More

Lovely for a day or night-time stroll, sunsets are glorious. Westerners are pestered for boat-trips, horse-carts and taxis, but La Shukran (no thanks) in a firm voice generally works.

When you are in luxor you must have a walk by the courniche having the nile with all the nile cruisers and small boats at one side and the huge and beautifull karnak temple at the other side. Also you can take the public ferry...More

This is a one of a kind corniche, where else can you walk with 3000 years old temples on your side! It's warm, city and people.. You can get a horse cart ride (incredibly cheap, and VERY authentic experience, real fun) It's safe, and really...More

It could have been a lovely walk but we were constantly hassled by taxi drivers, horse and cart drivers, offers to go on a feluca - which made us begin to avoid the area. If you walk about 100 m north of town it was...More
