A walk long the corniche is a must, if u can handle the hassle by the winter palace hotel , if you venture toward the Karnak end its quoted and more pleasant

The corniche is a great walk day or night on one side you have the Nile overlooking the West Bank with the cruise ships also moored there on the other side little Egyptian shops and on the upper level restuarants and the mummification museum which is also worth a visit

If you are in Luxor you will visit the corniche, you couldn't miss it without making a huge effort. It's worthwhile to take a few extra minutes to slow down and walk along the river to enjoy the calm and get a sense of where all the different sites are in relation the all-important Nile river.

When you walk along the Corniche make sure that you go at sunset. As the picture shows it is beautiful at sunset. Unfortunately with the downturn of the economy there is not much left to so or see as you walk. I would have given it higher stars if the vendors would leave you alone as you walk. Be prepared... If you are in Luxor you will not be able to ignore the corniche and will enjoy a walk along it (hopefully to visit the Luxor Museum). The view of the West Bank, Nile and boats is quite picturesque.

"Women help Women", "you want felucca?", "you walk like Egyptian" etc etc. It is not possible to walk for 2 metres along the lovely boulevard beside the River Nile without being continually hassled. I realise people are trying to earn a living, but it really is very tiring and slightly intimidating. The views across to the West Bank are lovely... More

Times are hard in Luxor these days. I enjoy walking along the river by day or night, but the constant badgering for taxis, boats, guides, carriages is hard to take these days.

The quiet area is near the Luxor museum. Its about 4 minute walk down stream towards the public ferry. There is grass areas and sure there are a few sellers near by but they don hassle you too much. If your walking the Nile for longer then there are a few more sellers for boat rides and taxis. But you... More

The view is spectacular, especially in the dawn or sunset OMG. awesome with the west bank mountains showing a great deal of contrast. Local sellers are offensive, Always asking for you to ride with them or a Nile tip or just asking for a good lady to get them out of the 3rd world country with a marriage contract.
