A visit to this "Museum " is on the agenda for all of the tours to Luxor. To be fair there is no hard sell here, visitors get an interesting demonstration of how Papyrus is made and once that is over there is of course...More

Our guide brought us here to see how papyrus was made, and to buy items in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, if we wanted. I found three pieces I liked, none huge, and the price was very fair. While paying, a gentleman painted a little cartouche...More

We'd sworn we wouldn't buy any souvenirs or art on this trip. This "museum" was on the itinerary. The little demonstration was interesting, but, who's kidding whom, it's a commercial establishment. But, that aside, it's high quality real papyrus and though some of the pieces...More

They call it a museum or an institute, but come on people!! It's a tourist trap!! Your guide and driver bring you here because they get compensated. But, if you want some glittery or glow-in-the-dark papyrus, this is your place!

Visited this place and saw how the ancient Egyptians prepared papyrus and were the first ones to invent paper and the art of hieroglyphic script that was truly fascinating and got our names written in that script !! Dr. Javed Rasheed

Papyrus shops abound in Egypt. Our tour guide took us to this shop in Luxor where we had a 10 minute demonstration of how papyrus was made. While we stood around the table, we saw what a papyrus plant looked like, how the stem was...More

I spent a lot of money here. The art was soo worth it. The caftmanship was evident compared to what is sold on the street and at the other site. Money well spent. Bargain however do not accept the listed price displayed.

From the outside you wouldn't think twice about going in but once in inside it's another world. The museum presents very well and the introduction as to how the prints are made was great. There is a large number of prints to chose and we...More

A very interesting experience. Allow time, if you can, to get a hand written, personalised Cartouche in hieroglyphics.

Beautiful art, some of which glow in the dark. We overpaid for the same thing in Cairo, but because Luxor is suffering, you can get a great deal here. I paid 100p for two 30X30ish glow in the dark art. But you really have to...More
