It is an amazing hike to take but more so if you have been exercising, preferably a couple of weeks, prior to the visit. It always looks like an easy task at the onset but the challenge catches on as you proceed up the mountain....More

The 3.3 km hike up mount Longonot is strenuous, especially the second part, but not very dangerous. It took me one hours and 45 minutes to get up with very frequent stops to catch my breath ... being over 100 kg of weight ..... Going...More

The hike in itself is really rewarding. It looks easy but definitely isn't. To start it is preferred to be in Early morning. One should bring lots of water, Snaks and some sunscreen. Must go around the Rim. We started early in the morning so...More

Climbing this vulcano is a nice thing to do with some great views. Keep in mind to bring enough water and some food. For the rest: enjoy the walk :)

Who charges $26 for an hike??? I found it to be very expensive. Not just that, they recommend going with a guide (Which I don't think is necessary if you are going in a group) and they charge an extra 3000 ksh for the guide...More

Very good challenge climbing up the mountain. However remember to get good hiking shoes otherwise you will be in for a beating, The soft gravel while walking round the crater can be a challenge if you have shoes without grip.

Very steep! Defiantly a workout. A little dangerous heading back down but the view is amazing and worth it!

Thanks for the review, helpful. Is it safe if I hike around the crater rim alone? Are there many hikers there?
