The Giraffe Centre was interesting, very good presentation by a young man on giraffe. The viewing platform was too disrespective of the animals. You could get up close to the animals (to give them food), but too many of the tourists were using them as mere props for their photos. More rewarding was seeing a group of young school children... The trip to the giraffe Centre is a chance to see the outskirts of Nairobi with a glimpse into some of the residential areas I think with that its nice to see how or where the local residents live on any trip and this is no exception. You also see the Kirare Forest and the Ngong Hills close by. Its... More

This was rather an interesting novelty visit, with most of the time spent feeding giraffes by hand. It's amazing how soft the tongues feel, considering they often eat thorny trees.

Its interesting as you happen to feed Giraffes by your hand. Otherwise it is more like an artificial place as Giraffes are domesticated and dont behave in their natural ways. There is small tortoise collection, information counter on Giraffes and a small souvenir shop in the centre also.

It's nice to see the giraffes and feed them. But 20 minutes is enough for me, more than that is boring. Another attractions are the warthog who lives side by side with the giraffes.

Like the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust it is also really touristic, but here you can feed the Giraffes on your own and you will be able to get some really good pictures ;-)

The 'Giraffe Centre' is a gimmicky place really. Novelty to feed a giraffe, and bizarrely some people feeding them from their mouths. Giraffes can be rough, so take care especially with kids. But found poor and inaccurate signage and general lack of information disappointing. If this really is a breeding centre, perhaps explain how and where reintroduction a happen and... More
