First of all, this is not a zoo. No one should go with expectations of reasonably sized enclosures. This is supposed to be a temporary housing for the injured/abandoned animals that they rescue from the park. Those that cannot be released back into the park...More

You may think that an animal orphanage would be like a zoo but it is not. These are orphaned animals from the Kenyan National Park that are brought there to be rehabilitated. If they cannot be rehabilitated for release then they are still able to...More

Orphaned Animals are kept safe from all likely dangers and cared for in more suitable environment that resembles their habitat. The staff is well trained and have hands on information regarding each animal. If you are the conservative kind then you could adopt the nurturing...More

The zoo is average. It's right next to the national park. If you can, spend your money on the park entry fee and see the animals in their natural environment instead of in cages.

We spent most of our day in the national park but we were curious to visit the orphanage, we were so disappointed, only a hand full of animals were in the orphanage in cages for security purposes. The place seemed down trodden and in need...More

The place is disappointing in that it is a little run down and the animal enclosures do not appear go provide much stimulation for the animals. It was educational in learning how the animals were rescued and how they are cared for. One positive in...More

We paid the residence rate of 300ksh per person and wouldn't have wanted to pay any more as if you are just wondering around without a guide it's not worth a visit. However we got a "guide tour" so we got to feed the lions...More

Not worth it at all- a hideously disappointing experience. I paid $22 to look at some depressed animals in cages. It is nice they have rescued these animals, but the place is so shabby and in massive need of a makeover. The toilets were beyond...More

Hi, never heard of feeding the cats; over 30 years that I have been to the orphange and since the time Safari Walk was started. You can take a picture with the cats, at least you could 10 years ago at the orphanage. Though I... More

It was $25 US for non residents. I don't know how much for locals. The plus side is they know the non-locals and do special things like let you feed the animals. . . for a tip of course. That part is worth it.
