Shannon was a delightful "foodie" who skillfully walked us through food stalls and introduced us to various eats. Her email communications were very clear and she even accommodated us changing the day of our tour. We paid 30% up front and the rest in cash after the tour. (Plus a well earned tip) We went to about 8-10 food stalls... More

Prior to our trip to Beijing we communicated several times with Shannon about the food tour, transportation to the food tour, and doing a Peking Duck dinner. She was very helpful giving us information about the subway, using the internet in China, and arranging a food tour that met our needs. On the night of the food tour she met... More

We did a private Secret Beijing Tour and it was such a really cool way to get a unique look at Beijing food + culture. Loved it! quirky, interesting, something a bit different from your regular group tour

We did a tour with Shannon and it was great, one of the standout experiences of our time in China. We had a few food issues in our group but she was really flexible and tailored a private tour for us. Loved it.

I recommend this tour for both those who are just on a short stay in Beijing but also for long-term Beijiners that never had the courage to go to the snack streets and make their minds up in front of such a variety of tastes and food. Being with Shannon provides the possibility to have a perfect understanding of the... More

I highly recommend this tour to everyone who is a little skeptical about the food in Beijing. We had the pleasure of having Shannon as our tour guide. She is originally from Australia and speaks perfect English. She also speaks Chinese. This tour definitely was worth it because we knew what we were eating and felt comfortable with Shannon's knowledge.... More

This tour is a little pricey and at first that made me not want to do it. Except I was kind of looking for somebody to take me around and feed me a bunch of foods that I might not be brave enough to try and get on my own and that is exactly what my guide Jack did. We... More

For more than 50 USD per person, this tour was not worth it. We strolled along a couple of main streets and were not given too many details about the limited food we ate. The tour guide also brought us to people's doorways and it felt strange. She also said strange things like "look, this Chinese boy is doing his... More

I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your tour. The guide you had is very proud of her country and her culture so she works very hard to go beyond the usual tour experience and to give her guests a good understanding of everyday life of Beijing. More

I always love to learn more about local street food, so I managed to sneak in a Night Market Food Tour with Hias Gourmet one evening while on a business trip to Beijing. Our guide, Spring, took us to Wangfujing snack street in central area of the city. The best part of our tour was that Spring knew the ingredients... More

With a strong USD this became an expencive tour for me. The guide was nice, but we were only taken to the touristy food market. There was limited additinal information about everyday life in Beijing, and the tour did not meet the standard of other food tours I've been on.
