When you visit the Summer Palace you will eventually wander to where this boat is located at the edge of the lake. Certainly interesting to view, and quite impressive. Of course this was not practical to be built, but it does show the wealth of...More

This marble boat was built by emperor Qianlong in 1755 within the summer palace on the Kunming lake . A long wooden covered bridge is leading to it . Actually made of wood and painted as if made of marble. The emperor was criticized for...More

Qingyan Stone Boat is great marble boat on the lake and is actually located at the summer palace. You will take great pictures with the boat as background.

This boat was made for the empress. It’s marble!!! Goes nowhere and sits in the water. You cannot go on it. BUT it is still worth the walk thru the summer palace grounds to see.

Interesting, but not much else to see; take a photo and move on to enjoy the walkway with the paintings. Nice bit of history.

Lying on Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace, this stone boat can be viewed from the Long Corridor. Visitors are not allowed on board so its only photography at a distance.

It's a nice sight to see but you won't need a lot of time to see everything about it. I bet it doesn't even really float. ;)
