Unexpectedly informative and revealing, well endowed with artefacts, illustrations and sounds, the three floors bring to life the story of the people ofGlasgow over the ages especially the poverty, domestic privations, the employment and health challenges. There is a whole section devoted to Billy Connolly...More

In a strange way, this was one of my favourite parts of the Forbidden City. It is a stunning beautiful and ornate tower. The whole Forbidden City experience is absolutely mind blowing but just make sure you do three things. One; Arrive early. Two; Give...More

This building lies at the far end of the visit near the North gate. An exquisite building and has the best architecture in the Palace Museum. A favourite subject of photographers.

Inside the Forbidden City the Turret is a truly fine specimen of ancient Chinese architecture. A great subject for photographers.

This is actually a park of the Forbidden City tour that we took with "Lily's Private Beijing Tour". It was a nice little climb and gave a good view of the city.

Amazing architecture like the rest of the Forbidden City. However, if possible, get there early and avoid the weekends - there'll still be huge crowds, but maybe a bit less enormous!

It really must be a distinction to be the best architectural piece in a complex where every building is vying to surpass the other in beauty. The Turret lies at the fag end of the tour to the forbidden city. You would have walked so...More

This is one of the buildings that must be viewed to be believed. Photos just do not do it justice and is a truly amazing piece of architecture that will leave you gasping.

We visited here at the end of the day and it is so easy to be "templed out" after a long days tour, but the sunset here over the water is worth waiting for. A Grand Finale to our forbidden city tour.
