This is an attraction within the Forbidden city, costs a bit extra to see but worth it. Also nice because you get away from the crowds for a bit. There is not a lot of English language signage but you can get a sort of vague idea of what is being discussed. As some other posters say, they could do... More

This is a very small exhibition of a part of the fantastic treasure house of the Emperors. Do not be dissapointed that there is not more, but the treasures are spread out across other museums in China so are not concentrated in one place.

I agree with the previous reviewer. These incredible national treasures are appalling displayed. The Chinese government should use our entry fees to enhance the displays. The glass isn't clean and there is absolutely no attempt to direct the masses who visit. we found the visitors, mainly Chinese, move to and fro from each display at whim and push and shove... More

The Antiquarium in the Palace Museum is also one of the MUST SEE place in Beijing. The Antiquarium is inside the Palace Museum. Visitors have to pay an additional entrance fee, even one has paid for entrance fee to the Palace. The items on displayed are average; some of them seem to be new. The conditions of the display is... This is a separate museum within the Forbidden City and an additional entry fee is charged. The displays within the museum are very good with some exquisite items on show. What really impressed us was that we were allowed to photograph absolutely everything with no restrictions.

If you have time, with just 10 RMB, you get to avoid the crowd and look at some of the exquisite items/jewellery that were used then. This was supposed to served as a retirement palace for Qianlong Emperor. One part I was interested in is the "Pavilion of Cheerful Melodies 畅音阁" which is a 3-storey structure where people perform opera... More

Not much more to say then average. Worth the 10 extra yuan but not any more. The exhibits are far better in the museums like the Capital Museum. If you miss this one your not missing much.

located inside the Forbidden city, this museum has an extra admission charge. worth it-not crowded with people, but full of great relics from China's past. Great way to see relics up close.
