One of the more interesting section of the wall. Would love to visit the entire length if staying longer.

One of the more challenging sections as it's falling down in several parts, overgrown in others, and with nothing in the way of side walls and spiky foliage on the surface, it's often a test for those with a fear of heights. Despite that, the...More

We decided to see the great wall of China from Gubeikou to Jinshanling using the Lonely Planet book as our guide. We followed some of their advise and also found a Trip Advisor article. However, we felt like we definitely would’ve done things differently if...More

We left Beijing pretty early and took a couple of busses to get to Gubeikou. We want to do both the dragon section and crouching tiger but only had time for one. Chose crouching tiger because of how tall it was and we were not...More

Walked the crouching tiger trail, superb views, hard work but worth it. Weather was excellent with not to many tourists.

A fantastic experience of unrestored parts of the Great Wall. The Crouching Tiger section is a very steep, difficult walk, but definitely worth the views at the top. This is a very different experience to the wall at Mutianyu.
