If you find yourself in China, you will enjoy visiting Ming Tombs Reservoir. We enjoyed it very much, spent the whole day in that area. There is lots to see and do on a China visit. My wife did not want to go there , but once we went she really enjoyed herself and we returned for a second visit... More

It's so relaxt, beautifull statues of wildlife and emperors. It was very nice to hear the guide tell us all about the history of the ming dynasty. We've learned so much about the chinese culture

If you're in the area (there is also a section of the Great Wall here) then stop by. The sacred way and Ming tombs are average and not worth making a single day trip. What was more interesting was the history behind it all - find an excellent guide for the good stories.

Our daughter had arranged for all of us to see the Ming Tombs. What we actually saw was a courtyard and an information center. I thought we would be actually seeing some of the tombs and the statues surrounding them. Only when my daughter questioned our tour guide did we learn that we were not seeing that. As part of... I was there during summer time but it was breezy during my visit. There were a couple of statues and weepy willow trees which makes the stroll relaxing. There were not so many people but I think the place is big enough to contain big crowds. It is also good for pictures and It is worth a visit.

The trail from the north end of Changping by the Zhengfa University camus to the reservoir is a fun hike and takes a few hours. You can take a bus back to Changping (and catch the subway from there back to downtown)

NIce get away but there are better options if your short on time. Not as scenic as Mutianyu area. A good place to visit - but you need to hire a private car. Pick some apples at the nearby orchards in the fall.
