It was boring and terrible. It might have been a good show for 5 year old children, but definitely not for adults. Our guide sold us the show as great but it has a cheesy and dull storyline, shabby lightshow and water works. The actors performance was very poor. A waste of money and time.

Physical stage of waterfalls, pools and moving segments. Huge cast, no verbal dialogue, and it’s under 90 minutes!

What a wonderful evening of entertainment. The athleticism was incredible. The lights, colors, music and performers all come together for a fantastic show. The show includes an incredible surprise but I won’t give it away🤗

Wonderful! Just loved this show; it was spectacular! The costumes were superb and the water...that was a surprise....I would recommend this as a must see in Beijing......I could go over and over again and never get tired of it.

The show is very elaborate with detailed costumes and a sceen with real water running off the stage. Also live birds as head dressing for a part of the show (they actually fly off). Well worth seeing the show.

The Golden Mask Dynasty Show is a historical presentation with a massive cast, great set design, and colorful costumes. The dancing and acrobatics are excellent with a waterfall scene that is unique. There is music, but no words, just acting out the play, so you don't need to know Chinese. Well done overall.

My conclusion after seeing this show: most TripAdvisor reviews are fake (sorry). Almost amateurish show... dancers are poorly synchronized and look uninterested. A few half-decent acrobats but 1/10th of what you'd see in any Cirque show. Theater only half full. Would have been acceptable (though waste of time) for maybe $10 per ticket.

Also right LED screen was glitch and would randomly flash a white screen. Just lame lame lame.

My first trip to China since living there 15 years ago and our tour guide really sold us on this show. I had no intention on going (I find Beijing Opera painful to listen to so assumed it would not entertain me), but my tour guide (who I now know gets a kickback on selling tickets) told us how great it was. We got front row seat, how amazing is that? It was awful. The story wasn't completely clear, occasionally there was a translation of the story, but they would give like 1 sentence in English. Even without the story, the dancers were robotic. Peacocks on a head are kind of cute, but cannot carry a show. Other than that, there was a good 2 minutes with trampoline work that was entertaining. Literally people were laughing at how bad it was. when the audience clapped, it was a pity clap. When asking how my tour liked it, basically, if you know nothing about plays and musicals - you may find it interesting that they have water in the theater and think it is ok. If you have been to quality plays and musicals, you likely will think it is a joke. Either way, there are better ways to spend those few hours (and your money).
