It's so incredible to see this place in person. You can't help but get goosebumps knowing how massive the wall is. Seeing it in person puts it into perspective pictures don't really do this place justice.

Wow, wow, did I say wow. If you go on a weekend the place is packed. wear good walking shoes, if you are not very able to walk it will be difficult to walk the wall. Plenty of facilities and rest stops. View is amazing.

The Great Wall is surely a wonder of construction, it stretches some 8,000km and was built entirely by hand. Some places are very steep to climb and the stairs difficult for the elderly!!

We went on the Monday Oct 8th and it was all a breeze. Saw photos from the day before (during China's national holiday) and it was mayhem. It helps that the weather was amazing. Took the funicular to concentrate walking effort on the wall itself...More

Another great part of the Great Wall. Experienced China's history. Also went to the Ming tombs to get a stronger sense.

We travelled here quite early and still found that the wall was starting to get busy. It is well worth catching the cable car, not only for the view but also to access the least busy part of the wall. The morning mist was heavy...More

We had no idea that you needed to get on a ski type chair lift to get to the place to begin climbing the wall and I was initially terrified, but it was safe and the views made it worth it. Climbing is steep and...More

If you are in China and you haven't visited the Great Wall it's kind of bad and you may regret it. It's equivalent can be measured in the value of visiting India and not seeing the Taj Mahal, We had planned a separate day for...More

Badaling is definitely the busest of all sections of the Wall. If you do not mind crowds and prefer a section that is easier to traverse then choose Badaling.
