We stayed in Beijing and debated between going to Mutianyu and Badaling. Our research prompted us to select Mutianyu, and we were very pleased. We went in late November. It snowed just two days before we went, and snow and ice remained while we visited Mutianyu. We left Beijing at 8:15 and arrived right at 10:00. Our hired driver recommended... More

An absolute must see when in China ! Take the skilift or the ropeway up to the wall take incredible pics and slide down the hill at the wall on a dry-toboggan-run ... it's such a fun. At the bottom of the Great Wall you will find a Subway-Restaurant and regional cuisine !

Quite a training to visit the wall though it is worth it. I climbed with a cable car (the same used by Michelle Obama, so it said) and climed some of the towers. The view is spectacular, but stairs are obviously old or old style reconstructed so uneven and not easy specially with ice . I personally enjoyed the view... More

Great experience! We took the cable car to the top and walked around for a while and admired the view... It's fantastic. Amazing experience to learn about the history of the wall and experience it for the first time. Wasn't really too crowded when we were there November 2016. If you want to walk up .....good luck to you... It's... More

We visited this section of the Wall on a semi-private tour with China Highlights, during our cruise with Holland America. We weren't sure we were going to make it due to the mother of all traffic jams on the road leading here, so our time was very limited once we got there. But it was incredible. Nice cable car up,... Awesome experience for the family.. but I suggest calling ahead to make sure the slide is open.. it had snowed the night before making the slide too wet and dangerous.. I was very disappointed but still had a great time walking the wall.

Visited this part of the wall with a group booked via our hotel. 1.5 hours to reach it. As others have mentioned, beautiful site and sight. We had the option to upgrade to include ming's tomb in our tour. Give the tomb a miss, unless you have a real passion for chinese history and museum visits. We paid 100RMB for... More
