Personally I was disappointed with the Zoo as a whole. Very small but well kept. Staff were good and worth a trip if you have not seen the Giant Pandas before. On the day I went the Pandas were not very active but that's the luck of the day amd time I guess. Th Panda coffee is worth buying just... More

Even though the pandas were in large areas, these areas were sterile and somewhat dirty. All the pandas were in separate spaces. The elephant exhibits were the most disturbing because the cages were barely twice the size of the elephant so the they were only able to go around in small circles. One couldn't see anything in the nocturnal display.... More

The Beijing Zoo is good if you want to see some pandas but the environment for the animals isn't very good. It was very saddening to see how some of the animals lived.

Well it's not the BEST zoo by far but there's pandas. Enough said. Kinda reminded me of zoos in Mexico. If you're in Beijing and you have time... do it! If you're undecided between other must see landmarks and are pressed for time. Skip it. ;)

At 14Yen each, the zoo was good value but the animals were not necessarily in the best conditions. The spaces for the animals are sometimes cramped and social animals are not in groups. The layout of the zoo was good and the toilets were clean, but the exhibits were sometimes dirty and over crowded. However the panda exhibit was the... More

This zoo was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend that tourists visit as it is not like other zoos I have been to before. The animals are all kept in extremely small enclosures, most of which were filthy and unkempt. The animals looked very unhappy and were all isolated from one another. It appeared that zoo keepers were uninterested in... More

I think beijing zoo is very good to visit. They have good exhibitions, there are rhino, elephant, giant panda, lion & tiger, asia, australia, africa, america, noctural, sealife, aves, etc. Dont visit at winter because some animals not display in cage. Improve your noctural exhibition.

I was worried that the animals weren't taken care of but I was pleasantly surprised! Be aware that most of the Chinese people will stare at you more than the animals! But they have an amazing culture!
