It was nice to attend Church in English in China. The 10:30a.m. worship service in the South Cathedral is apparently always in English. The scriptures were read in English and French and the pastor delivered a very apt sermon reflecting on the reading. The whole...More

It is Amazing to Find a 400 Year Old Catholic Church in the Center of Beijing and well worth a Visit. If only to allow you to understand that Religion is Not as Suppressed by the Chinese as we are lead to Believe. It is...More

I am not catholic but I just wanted to visit a church in China. Churches are a dime a dozen in the west but not so at all here in China. There is now some religious tolerance but still not typical. I go to Buddhist...More

This is a beautiful church and the Sunday English mass at 10:30 is very well attended. Father Zhu is excellent and gives a very good Homily.

One of the rare Cathedrals in Beijing. Nice architecture but don't come for that. Some masses in English (I am told) but sat for a Chinese one that was still enjoyable.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Chinese: 圣母无染原罪堂), colloquially known as the Xuanwumen church (Chinese: 宣武门天主堂; pinyin: Xuānwǔmén Tiānzhǔtáng), is the oldest existing Catholic Church in Beijing. English mass is offered Sunday afternoons at 3 p.m. Contemporary music style. Latin mass also available in the...More

It's very easy to find the church. Took the subway line 4 and stopped at Xuanwumen Station. It does not matter which exit you take because when you are out you can see the cross. It is Sunday and I heard there will be an...More
