The museum is free. You don't have to show passport. It's a huge space when you go in. There are exhibitions on the left and right of the entrance. The left side is really neat in that the exhibitions are all enclosed in this brass...More

This museum and its collection are a delight. First of all admission is free. The museum's collections of ancient artifacts is worthy of a trip. Lastly, the building's architecture is both spectacular and at times unsettling. Ancient artifacts are housed in the leaning columnar structure,...More

The sixth floor has some Beijing local culture displays, and the jade exhibit was good, too. The rest was just okay. Free admission with ID/passports, so can't complain.

I came here for an afternoon when the temperature was pushing 40C. Make sure you book your tickets in advance, otherwise you won't get in. The exhibits were well written and informative. I easily spent hours here.

The museum is in a spectacular space, easy to get to, and everything is well displayed. Mostly local stuff and not much that I found to be really unique. It looked to me to be a showplace set up for the Olympics.

First off, for those who don't already know all museums close on Mondays in China. Like another reviewer I preferred this to the national museum on Tianmeman square. It's a short subway journey alone line 1. Entry is free but take a passport. Officially they...More
