This was such a great experience - both from the culinary perspective but also because our guide Carlyle does such a great job telling us about the history of the neighborhood, what life was like growing up in the hutong, and is just a great guy to chat with in general. The food we main came out amazing - the chef is from a local hotel and his techniques are great - and it was so delicious to get to eat it all at the end. Highly recommend this for visitors and friend groups!

Just finished a school trip and couldn't wait to review. The students had a brilliant time and Carlyle was extremely engaging and kind throughout, catering to all dietary requirements and showing us how to cook a variety of dishes. The students absolutely loved it - would definitely recommend!

I could not have been more happy. You contact him by mail and he explains everything. I highly recommend. He also helped me install wechat.

My son and I did this class together and both really enjoyed it. Pretty sure his knife skills have improved now, and hope he uses the recipes for the remainder of his stay in China.
The class was expertly run by the team, who were very knowledgable and friendly. The venue is the in the Hutong district, giving some very interesting insights into traditional life in the city.

A very welcoming and helpful host, Carl, who met us, gave us a little history of the Hutong area and then brought us to an intimate Kitchen to go through the dishes we were to cook. Especially pleased they accomodated my wife who is gluten intolerent. Each dish had an informative introduction discussing its history and location and then we all had a go at preparing, chopping and cooking. All in all a great day in a stunning area of Beijing...

everything was perfect. upon receiving confirmation for the date and time of our class, the guide, Carlyle, provided me with very detailed instructions on how to get to the cooking class using both taxi or the subway system. After we arrived, he gave our group a tour of a local market and discussed the history and importance of a variety of different Chinese foods. Once the Market tour was completed, we made our way to his class room in the local Hutong. During the class we made a total of 11 different Chinese dishes with the help of a professional chef along side Carlyle. we had a vegetarian in our group and the extremely accommodating, right down to every single ingredient, ensuring everything was correct. Our group had a blast and it was by far the best meal we had during our week long trip. If you have the time, I would highly recommend Beijinger Kitchen to anyone making the trip.

The guide is so knowledgeable about culture and food, speaks great English, and the food was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect amount of shopping, cooking and eating. We loved making the dumplings and seeing parts of China that we wouldn’t find by ourselves. 100% recommend!

This was my first cooking class and I really enjoyed it. Carlyle, the Chinese organizer, speaks excellent English and is extremely kind, helpful and talkative. He brought us into his and his partner "cooking lab" to show us some typical Chinese preparations and recipies. His partner is a professional chef, and they helped us preparing our dinner, sharing tips and secrets. I strongly suggest this experience in Beijing.
