sight seeing

very nice to see, if you know the history of the square (Mao's time) The temple is more interesting, Did not see any foreigners or tourists, so you can meditate or pray.

Big square in Chongqing with a big gate and the Gorges museum fronting it. Not a hive of activity but ok to check out as you will be there anyways if visiting the museum.

When you go to The Three Gorges Museum take time to walk around the people's square. Sit and relax and enjoy the Chinese city hall.

We spent some time here on a cloudy afternoon, but the square was crowded with many locals, mostly, it seemed, grandparents taking care of toddlers. The square is surrounded by the Great hall of the People, the Chongqing Museum and many restaurants. We spent a pleasant hour there, even watching a water calligrapher.

Spend the evening there just observing the Chinese way of life and shopping. It's a lively place to be.

We spent an entire afternoon in Chongqing. I'm sure there was so much more this city had to offer but we were limited on time with a tour group and had to move on to our next destination.

Really has to be seen and experienced to be fully appreciated. Its mixture of Western architecture into a Eastern architecture and building works extremely well

It is a large open space in downtown Chongqing. On its ground are neatly paved marble tiles with rows of trees along the Remin Road.Surrounding the square are flower beds and a large fountain at its corner. Chongqing's iconic Great Hall of the People is across the square. It is a reminder of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The Three... More
