The conditions the animals were in, just deplorable. This place should be given a complete overhaul. Just broke my heart to see the conditions the animals were living in.

It is difficult to rate zoos because many enclosures are totally inadequate for the animals, as was the case here. The Panda area seemed well suited to its inhabitants, however, and they were easily observed and seemed happy. The zoo is in a beautiful forest...More

They had many different animals. We saw the red panda and a rare tiger. There were also many types of lizards and birds. Plus elephants and rhinos. It was raining when we were there but we still enjoyed it.

The pandas are the main attraction. You want to go early when the pandas are active and being fed. Don’t miss the red pandas. They were adorable and enjoy the attention. The zoo has lovely flowers/trees.

I felt very sad or the monkeys...it's like life imprisonment and solitary confinement. Either release them back to the wild or built better and bigger enclosures with trees etc etc for them.

I was lucky enough to get to the zoo before the bus loads of tourists arrived. I had taken a taxi from my hotel which seemed the obvious thing to do. The entrance is 30 yuan and the panda enclosure is open most of the...More

Extremely small enclosures for all animals. Sad to see. Pandas were interesting but need to go in morning before 10am or around 4pm to see them as that is when they are fed.

You will see pandas, but the grounds are more pleasant for us than for the animals. Not large for us but clearly inadequate enclosures for the pandas and tigers. We took only a short visit to fill time while waiting for the cruise so admit...More

We visited the zoo in the last october 2014. Our Viking guide told us the only way to handle Pandas was to go thru the ministry of culture and then you have to be a government sponsored zoo keeper. The Panda is a very... More
