It is the town where it is good for a trip, but does not want to live.A house price is too high and air is not good.

We stayed in the Central area between Sheung Wan and Central MTR stops. It's a busy, bustling area with many, many shops. As a tourist who prides myself on frugality and getting the best deal, this area of HK proved to be pretty spendy. In hindsight, we should have stayed on the Kowloon side. We had a good time, but... Stupid busy place and really is the Centre of everything Lots and lots of shops and all very high end - if you appreciate diamonds and size zero Parisian fashion then this is the place for you. It does have the Piers off the HK island, so visited a lot, so see the greater region

I revisited Hong Kong to refresh my memory. Took lots of photos of the places I have been familiar with which stayed in my mind. The old solid buildings are still there. Some small buildings have been demolished and multi-storeyed building have come up in their places.

This is very much the business capital of Hong Kong with a larger Banking Sector and many skyscrapers. It also has many of the top brand shops. Quite expensive even for a Coffee.

Took the train to central to experience the peak tram ride but was not able to experience it due to the crowds. I then decided to experience the rest of central and to explore a bit. Central I must say is very clean and appears to be a business district. Lots of very tall and intricate looking buildings, few high... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
