Squeezed between tall buildings is this beautiful cathedral. Living in Asia, it is not as easy to find European style churches, so this was a nice place for us to visit.

Beautiful church walk 15 mins from mrt station. But can not take a photo inside church. Between the way from mrt to church have many shop and restaurant.

The novelty of a Catholic cathedral all the way in the Far East is what really makes this site a tourist attraction, despite the obvious ties to colonialist missionaries, although not many tourists seem to know about the place. The exterior is a white marble design that carries on through the inside in a lack of colour surprising in Catholicism.... More

If you're from Europe you might not be terribly impressed with churches. But if you are one of those looking for a nice church around Hong Kong, this is one of the best ones to visit in HK. Beautiful interior with a real organ and has about 3 altars. Many lovely stained glass windows depicting various saints. It is situated... More

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral is so central and located a few feet above the busy streets of Central Hong Kong. Airconditioned and well lit, the Sunday mass was a nice experience to have. The church choir very good and the church porters very helpful.

After reading some less than enthusiastic reviews about this cathedral, I had no great expectations. I had planned to take a taxi, but after exiting Central station two floors above ground level, I decided to walk, and had no problems finding the cathedral other than negotiating numerous steps in the heat. The cathedral is a rather hemmed in plain white... More

I have problem with direction - so I got there with the help of my Hong Kong friends who are non-Christians, with the help of Google Map. If you are a fan of John Paul II, this cathedral is a must. The first class relic (hair) of St John Paul II is kept there for veneration.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, found on Caine Road, near the southwest entry into the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Garden is a rare example of Gothic architecture found in the city. This is one of the earliest cathedral buildings in Hong Kong, having been constructed in 1883. There is a decent history concerning the cathedral posted outside the... More
