Stanley is very different to other parts of Hong Kong, or completely different from what you think about Hong Kong. Stanley, located at the southern of Hong Kong island, is much more relaxed with beaches, hills and coves. You will find the western atmosphere in this small Chinese town.

Stanley is a very unique experience in Hong Kong, situated on HK island, it's "village" in a mega-city. It's incredible to realize that just a bus ride away from the dense and compact mega-city of HK is this former fishing village. This was inhabited long...More

Stanley is a Small and very commercial Beach town. Nothing to do but shopping. Very english and not so Chinese. The trip from central to stanley by bus is interesting and very beautiful. Take a stop by repulse Bay Beach.

Take a bus from central and be there in about 30 to 40 minutes. Takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan side. A nice little bay with little shops and a market. Ideal for a quiet day trip.

I suggest a double decker bus for the view! Sit on the right upstairs for the best view going to Stanley. The market is always interesting but now there is a modern section with a mall and walking paths. Great to soak in the views....More

Pretty generic 'shook' experience and overlooking a bay that also is pretty generic looking. I'd save this for once you run out of things to do on the Victoria Harbour side!

The markets are poor in sale items and value. Really not much here at all, though the bus ride out is the best way to travel. The coast is interesting and even at 8degrees in winter the water looked inviting, to me.

It was ok. Someone recommended to us & we thought let us try. But I would not recommend to anyone. It was waste of time. There isn’t anything much to see.

I think you should head to Tsim Sha sui for a tailor as you will have options to choose from and will be spoiled for choice.

I haven't tried the junk boat over there. I know there was one around Tsim Sha Tsui but I am not sure it stopped servicing or not. I regard taking the boat in Tai O is much more fun in my mind.
