Cheap ($.50 USD ??) to go from Kowloon > Hong Kong Island (or the opposite) in 10-15 minutes. Awesome view of both sides of the bay. If you're walking along the water on either side, it's a quick way to get across and a fun little trip on a historic ferry line with 60's ferrys. Other than that, it's nothing... More

We took the ferry from the Kowloon side to Central on a relatively clear night. The lights of the city on Hong Kong Island along with the lights lining several of the boats created a lovely display. The boat ride it self is no frills (although very reasonably priced) but the view along the way is tremendous.

Super convenient and a great way to see Hong Kong Harbor. Its easy to get on and off, the fare is cheap and is a must see and do when in HK.

If you visit Hong Kong, you have to take a ride on the Star Ferry since it's an icon of HK heritage. Great views of the skyline at night too.

The trip across the harbour from Kowloon to HK Island (or vice versa) is talked about a lot in guides. Seemed pretty average to us, but it is at keast very inexpensive

Always the best way to see the symphony of lights (in the evening 8pm) and Hk skyline, plus it's a lot cheaper than MTR (2.5hkd for adult) I think it's also the fastest way going to wan chai or central from TST without going to Admiralty station thru MTR.

HK$ 175 with a packet of biscuit and a small can of Nestea and an hour ride is okay for a one timer but definitely not a very affordable price specially if you are a family of four. The ferry is neat and clean and well maintained. 60 minutes of pleasure ride is great to take snaps and see the... More

It is not the Italian gondola, it is one big old ferry crossing the Victoria Harbour from one side to another, but I did enjoy the ride and somehow it was quite romantic.
