I did not see why it was a big deal when people told me I need to do the Start Ferry but I am glad I did. It was beautiful and night looking at the city lit up in lights. It is cheap, fast and I say a must do!

This is such great value and a fun, scenic way to travel across. If you are walking to the ferry from the Kowloon side you'll see the 'upper deck' boarding access first. You cannot change decks on board so it might be worth doing one deck going over and the other going back. The upper deck seemed more enclosed which... More

I like to travel on the Star Ferry if I'm visiting TST, but it's also special to take any visitors on it. On a clear day or evening, the skyline is beautiful.

Lots of fun! The trips across the harbour are actually very fast. Super cheap to buy a pass or using the Octopus Card. Best views are at night, highly recommended. Cool feature on the bench seating is the backrest, it simply moves from side to side on the bench so you can face the direction you want, of course you... More

This was one for my bucket list as I had been told this was a great way to see the harbor and get to Kowloon. It did not disappoint and the tickets are inexpensive.

A good and cheap way of seeing Hong Kong from the water. A must do 'cruise' Very short trip but essential visit whilst in Hong Kong. Try at dusk as the city lights up. Great pics to take home. No queue to endure!!

I took the star ferry from the Harbour Grand Hotel to meet my friends at North point for dinner. They have chosen a Chinese restaurant up at the North Point Market called Tung Bao. Let me tell ya this place has the best steam rock cod which you cannot be missing out while you are in hong kong. I was... More

It was quite a walk to get to the new pier and not too pleasant with the construction all around. However it is perhaps an eye-opening experience for both adults and children. Good to point out to the children how the ferry was really THE indispensable transport between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Also good to point out how that... More

Great alternative to using the MTR. Enjoy the beautiful views. Hong Kong has the best public transportation

The green and white boats of the legendary "Star Ferry" commute reliably since 1888 between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Nice alternative to taking the subway from Wanchai to Tsim Tsao Tsui or vv. And for me the cheapest and most charming way to enjoy one of the most scenic Spots in Hongkong. Get the ferry at 8pm to see... More
