There're two ways to get to Ma Shi Chau. You can either walk from Sam Mun Tsai or take a boat offered by local fishermen at the Sam Mun Tsai pier. If you choose to walk, take note that you'll pass through miles of gravesite before arriving. The hiking trail starts at Sam Mun Tsai village and many people do... More

I will admit, had it not been for Mandy from The Hong Kong Getaway Tour I would have never seen this beautiful gem outside of Hong Kong. Getting here or even knowing about it is half the challenge for visitors such as myself. Once Mandy took me here during my full day private tour, I found out why she brings... More

The old village at Sam Mun Tsai was wonderful with lots culture! Got a glimpse of the life in traditional fishing village and can walk to the geographic site in just 10-15 min. Sunset view was simply unforgettable!

Part of Hong Kong Geopark, this not only nature preservation area but also a geoheritage of local culture. A fisherman Village, Chinese cemetery, and beach in several gulf setting area. It prepared by British Government when they relocate the fisherman to this area. Nothing special for regular tourist, but very special for certain people.

Take a hike to Ma Shi Chau, accessible through a sandbank adjoining Sam Mun Tsai. It's nohing spectacular but good for a day's outing if you have nothing much to do. Easy to get to, a bit of walking but not too difficult. DIRECTIONS: Take metro MTR to Tai Po Market station. Look for the bus terminal there (around exit... More

No large scale and spectacular landform on the island as compared with other areas of Geopark in Hong Kong. However, the walking trail which requires not much energy suits all ages. Scenery along the coastline is still nice. Transport to the area is quite convenient.

As I have been to many protected park over the world, I have a huge experience, and I can tell Ma Shi Chau is one of the worse, ever. When you arrived, you are passing by a grave yard, which is fine, but there is rubbish everywhere and the place is not well maintained. When we pass the entrance of... More
