Recommended by Hong Kong Tourism Board and led by true locals born and raised in this gastronomic mecca, Hong Kong Foodie Tasting Tours offers unique, small-group walking tours to help you explore Hong Kong's culinary culture. Our mission is to lead hungry souls from around the world to wander off the beaten path and taste some of Hong Kong's favorite foods. We have researched throughout the city, tried numerous eateries, talked to restaurant owners, before putting together an itinerary that features many of the locals' most-loved foods. Along our excursion, your Foodie guide will also lead you to discover some of Hong Kong's other flavors - its history, culture, architecture and neighborhoods. We will also show you some of Hong Kong's unique features and what makes our hometown so special. Our goal is for everyone to return to these neighborhoods with confidence and take advantage of the wide range of food and cultural options that our city has to offer. We are the only food tour company licensed by the Hong Kong Travel Agents Registry and we are a member of Travel Industry Council and Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents. All our Foodie guides are also licensed tour guides. For anyone who lives in HK or just arrived this is a great way to get to know the city and it's foodie culture. There were lots of tasty stops, historical and cultural tidbits but getting a foot inside the kitchen of one or two places was really something. Thank you Cliff, it was a great way to spend a... I took the Sham Shui Po morning tour with the amazing Yammy on the 1st morning of my holiday in HK. I want to reach out to solo travellers here and say don't shy away from tours if you are on your own. Yammy and the 2 couples on my tour felt like friends within half an hour so it's... More

We took the Central/Sheung Wan tour last week and we had a great time. The food was really good, and it was so much more than simply a tasting tour. We learned a bit of history, as well as interesting information about Chinese culture and food. We also got to see parts of Central/Sheung Wan that we probably wouldn't have... More

We had a great tour with Carrie in Sham Shui Po. We stopped at six places to eat and a number of other places to just look and listen to Carrie telling us loads of interesting details about life in Sham Shui Po in particular and Hong Kong in general. We really felt that we got a better understanding of... More

My husband and I did the Central HK tour with Yammy. Despite the rainy weather, we had a fabulous time! Yammy was friendly, knowledgeable, & fun. We enjoyed all of the food immensely. We also decided to be adventurous & try a 1000 year old egg & Turtle Jelly. If not on the food tour, we probably would have never... More

My boyfriend and I took the Central & Sheung Wan tasting tour with Yammy and she was fantastic! Her English was great and she added in some great humor to make the tour more enjoyable. She also knew so much about not just the food, but also the local customs, history, and tips for things to see around the area.... More

Did my tour with Carrie who was quite enthusiastic and gave a good introduction to Hong Kong (and the food!) to this first-time visitor. Picked up a couple of knives at the Leung Tim Chopper Factory too.

This tour is a must do in HK. Our guide Yammy was great. Gave us great info on both food & the general culture. Will definitely do it again.

Yammy was great. There were 6 stops, the first was a noodle place with unbelievable fish balls. We went back to the Dim Sum place the following day. We even tried a thousand year old egg. The tour really helped us appreciate the Hong Kong food scene. Thanks!

We loved being showed around HK by Yammy. Her tips about the streets and shops in HK were very useful. Also, she made sure that our dietary requirements were completely looked after.

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
