Walk trail is great with some lovely views, some parts are in lots of foliage and others are up high on the hill. Be aware there are some steep parts up hill to conquer, so a moderate fitness is required especially if you do this during the hot humid times. Just take you time and take in the view. We... More

I hiked from Shung Shue Wan to Sok Kwu Wan, and it was amazing. Definitely Advise doing in nice weather, but maybe not mid summer as half of the hike is unshaded. Half way are two beaches, whcih i highly advise going to. At the top of one of the hills and next to a temple, there is a stall... More

The trail is well signposted from either side and is paved so ordinary trainers are fine. Toilets are available at either end of the Family Trail and also at the beach. You could do it with a push chair however the paving is a uneven in places. Superb views, great places to stop any buy the chilled pineapple on sticks... More

This is a great escape from Hong Kong for a few hours. Hike between the two villages and either catch the ferry back or hike back to Yung Shue Wan and catch the ferry back to Central. The path is steep in parts but you can do this in sneakers - no boots required as the path is well maintained... More

We did both the Ling Kok Shan (3hrs) Trek and more conventional Family Trial 1.75hrs). The former was a little demanding physically but the views were breath-taking. It was much quieter and we did not meet many trekkers along the way. But surely this was the better walk of the two. This made for a great day at Lamma island.

Lamma island is really something to consider if you want to escape the busy city of Hong Kong. The ferry (leaving central Ferry pier) will cost 38 HK$ Go&Return (17 HK$ for kids) and takes you in 25 minutes to the island. You can choose between Sok Kwu Wan or Yung Shu Wan to arrive and return vice versa. The... More

Just a 30min ferry ride from Central piers takes you to Yung Shue Wan on Lamma Island. Here you can buy water, have a coffee or breakfast or even buy street food as you walk along to the start of the cross-island trail, the Family Trail. It's an easy going walk taking in the beach on the way as well... More

The trail is very popular to locals and visitors due to the view and accessibility. may start from either direction. Yung Shue Wan is more choices of shops, restaurants and cafe while sok kwu wan is quiet fishing village. On the way, may take a rest for sweet tofu soup, chinese sweet soup towards windmill, or some stalls for iced... More

Start off at one ferry pier and walk to the other. Took me about 2 hours that was with exploring and photos. Go up hill to the wind turbine and visit the beach and the temple. It's called the family trail and it's well sign posted. Lots of great photo ops. Be warned it gets very busy on weekends. I... More

It was a nice change of scenery. I usually go to HK and stay in the city for the malls and "City life" and it got boring. I took the Yung Shue Wan to Sok Kwu Wan route (since i stayed in lamma island for 3 days 2nights). Trail is perfect for beginners. There are some short parts but easy... More
