For a free attraction, this place is lovely for a 2-3 hour mooch. Interesting and engaging look at the geology, biology and sociology of Hong Kong -all the way up to British colonisation, Japanese occupation and the return to China.

The museum have guided tours during the day that are free. We did one and it was very informative and better than reading the captions on the displays. You can get the details from their website.

It's confusing a lot of people. The renovation is still at the planning stage. The museum is business as usual. It still closes Tuesdays though.
