Welcome to Hong Kong, and thank you for considering me as your private guide. Hong Kong is a city still full of traditions, cutting edge structures, a density that will blow your mind and inhabited by steadfastly strong and enlightening people. As a huge bonus… it has some of the tastiest (and inexpensive) food in the world too.

I’m have had both my children in Hong Kong, and am now in my seventh year here. When I moved, my goal was never to be an outsider in this city, and so I spent the time (trying) to learn the language and all about its history and people. Sharing these insights with overseas guests and being your friend in Hong Kong is what I am most passionate about.

I was lucky enough to receive my Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2014, 2015 and now 2016 having done over nearly 500 tours now in this city, I mostly work with families, but love to help individuals, groups and businesses as well and pride myself on making your trip as bespoke as possible.

Book on one of my private tours and let me take the lead on this trip!

Please note I am NOT part of the Global Greeter Network.

Amy was the perfect guide for our walking tour in Kowloon. Amy's email communication before we booked was excellent. Amy will craft your day based on what you want to do.She is knowledgeable, personable, fun, and adapts well to situations. Amy even met us early to purchase our Octopus cards and helped us to plan our following day on our... More

We booked a tour with Amy for the first day of our trip to HK. I thought that would be the best way for us to see some of the sights and get help navigating the city. Rather than a one size fits all approach, she asks questions, and tailors the tour to your group. In our case, it started... More

I am a professional Tour guide, but didn't mention that to Hong Kong Greeters. HK is not a city where I offer Tours, so I hired Amy to lead our group of 24. She is AMAZING !! From the first moment we were in contact with her to her warm & genuine greeting, to her professional, spot-on Tour in every... More

I could list in detail where Amy took me in Hong Kong - by foot, by tram, by train and by ferry - but the only thing any potential visitor needs to know is that she's a wonderful companion, has a wicked sense of humour and brings history to life in such a vivid way. It was such a brilliant... More

We had a very long layover in Hong Kong, and decided the best way to use it was for a private car tour. Amy found us at the airport and filled our time very well with some of the highlights of Hong Kong, plus great knowledge of the area. We appreciated her knowledge as well as how personable she is.

Amy made our first visit to Hong Kong such a seamless, pleasurable and informative experience I would highly recommend HK Greeters. Left to our own hap hazard sightseeing methods we would only have seen a fraction of the main attractions in double the time with twice the effort. She knows her stuff and delivers in a clear and professional way.... More

As Hong Kong novices and only having a couple of days there we wanted to get around some of the highlights and get orientated so that we could make our own way around on day 2. Amy was a superb guide- very knowledgeable and able to share it in a very pleasant and interesting way. She was very flexible in... More

With only 8 hours between flights in and out of Hong Kong we wanted to make the most of our visit, and Amy didn't disappoint! Communication leading up to the trip was excellent; and on the day she made sure we got a flavour of the city via the full range of transport options. She made sure our young son... More

We spent the better part of a day with Amy visiting Hong Kong's various corners and had a fabulous time. Amy listened to what we were wanted to experience and arranged for an interesting, fun and diverse tour of the city. Having lived in Hong Kong for quite a while now, Amy has a lot of knowledge of the area... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
