What a fun afternoon spent at Mixing Bowl in a class with Kyle making cinnamon buns and seeded loaf. Kyle is a fantastic teacher and excellent at giving step by step instructions. Both recipes were great and my kids scoffed down the cinnamon buns afterwards. The new shop has a very nice patio. I can imagine it will be perfect... More

I just moved to Hong Kong and my best friend bought me a cooking class experience with my beau for my birthday. It was so much fun, Kyle was very informative not only on processes but also offered a more thorough understanding of the "whys" involved with cooking. The location was modern, wide open, and beautifully decorated. It was a... More

We all learned some baking tips that we have never learned from YouTube videos or baking books. Very informative and delicious recepies. Huge recommendations for a... More

I had a great time meeting The Mixing Bowl team! Very energetic and fun ambiance! Next trip to HK we plan to bring our kids - I know they will have a ball with the hands-on baking experience!

Although HK is a food paradise, it just doesnt offer calories packed & scrumptious sugary treats such as Cinnabon, Krispy Kreme, etc.. Well last weekend I began hunting for Cinnabon / cinnamon roll in HK and had found that this little cafe that serves them. It is situated near Po Hing Fong in Central, which requires roughly 10 min walk... More

I go to Hong Kong fairly regularly so was looking for something different to do this time around. You can't fail to notice the great variety of Chinese bakery so making it from scratch is very rewarding. Having looked at a few other classes I decided on The Mixing Bowl and I don't regret that decision at all. The class... More

I have enrolled the Macarons class. It was fun!! And it's my first time making macarons. The environment is great and instruction during class is clear. Would come back again for other classes! :)

My son has food allergies and Kyle tried his very best to accomdodate him in summer camps. I know it was challenging but he did very well. My sons enjoyed a lot. (It is not like other... More

I have joined two cooking classes in the Mixing Bowl. One was "Introduction to Bread Making", another was "Macaron". Both are really nice. The bread tasted really fresh and the macaroons were fabulous!!! Probably the best I have ever tried!!!!!! They ensure you to make the products taste delicious and look nice. So you can give it a try! There... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
