Not only the Big Buddha, but all the experience is memorable. Take the cable car and dare to hike back your way down the hill

Since I got here december time there's a lot of tourist that would like to experience to feel the breathtaking scenarios Lantau Island can give. My experienced are great, I feel great..... More

With the superb public transport system they have in Hong Kong it is easy to get to Lantau Island. We decided to get there by MTR (Tung Chung line to Tung Chung) and back by ferry from Mui Wo to No 6 Pier at Central. You could of course do it the other way around but we loved seeing the... More

Besides wandering around the shoreline, beaches and taking a bike stroll, there are a few restaurants to sit and relax but other than this not much else to do.

Great trip up to the Buddha, u fortunately we had to do some of the journey by bus on the winding road which was very sickly but worth it to get to the top

We were picked up from our hotel by bus then dropped off at ferry terminal and met our tour guide who told us to come back 15 min later when doors will opened and ignored us until we arrived at Lantau. We boarded another bus and drove to a beach for a happy place stop (toilet stop). Back on bus... More

Of course the airport is on this island but this island has a lot to offer. We went to a small village Mui Wo for a hike. And of course there is Disney too.

Tip: Start your day trip to Lantau quickly as the lines to the cable car are long. Also check if the cable car is closed for maintenance. A day trip to Lantau is fabulous and worth the visit. The Buddha shrine, the monastery are worth visiting.
