Hikes on lantau can take a lot of time. Make sure you carry enough water and food with you and avoid night time if possible.

lantau trail has 12 stages. i think about 70 kilometers. climb sunset peak, lantau peak, visit the buddha, see ocean views, some rugged, some easy, can do 1,2,3 or more stages a day. so beautiful, challenging but very doable

The lantau trail is good for a walking and hiking experience. The trail feels like a forest tour. Caution in the rain as it gets a little slippery. The views at some parts are breath-taking. The cool clouds and winds are very relaxing. The enlightenment...More

The trail is really scenic and beautiful. It can get cold and windy so carry protective wear! Go for it if you have some time!

...from the reservoir to Ngong Ping is challenging enough to be rewarding for two hours of walking, as well as providing hikers with some beautiful views. I am now keen to walk more of it!

Wake up early and go for sunrise - it’s 100% worth it. The added bonus with this is that it’s not too hot climbing up. I think any other time of day would be very tricky in the heat. Be prepared for steps and lots...More

This was a difficult, albeit rewarding hike. The views take away the fatigue you would normally feel because it's just so beautiful when you arrive at the top. You get to see the beautiful mountains and just breath in that view. You can take a...More

I love this peak, because if you are lucky enough, you can catch the spectacular sun rising view up on the peak. For me, i hike there 6 times and only 3 can catch the sun rising view. Three different unforgettable sun rise. However, the...More

I took MTR to Tung Chung, then Ngong Ping cable car, then went strait ahead to the Big Buddha and the Po Lin monastery, not spending time in the tourist village. The big Buddha and the monastery are amazing! There is a path on the...More

We took the MTR then a bus, and hiked from Pak Kung Au to the Big Buddha. We'd done Dragon's Back the day before and enjoyed it, but this is certainly much harder. You need to leave at least 3-4 hours in total and wear...More
