Lamma island is an absolute must! A 30 minute ferry ride from Hong Kong Lamma island is a different world. A complete contrast to the hustle and bustle of Kowloon & Hong Kong. Half the price of Hong Kong for accomodation. A lovely seemingly untouched...More

Fast frequent ferry links at a reasonable cost. The island has plenty of paths and routes to walk and explore the settlements. A number of restaurants and cafes near the ferry port.

We chose Lamma Island as a way to spend a day out of the city and in nature. The hike over to the other bay was well worth the effort and easy to get the ferry back to the mainland.

I caught the Ferry from Pier 4 at Central, to Sok Kwu Wan, to enjoy a day away from the bustle of Hong Kong. There are more frequent departures from Yung Shue Wan, so it made more sense to start at Sok Kwu Wan, then...More

You could do a walk from one ferry terminal on this island to the next. During the walk, you'll walk past houses and lookout points. I really enjoyed the quiet and scenic walk.

The ferry ride to Yung Shue Wan, western style eggs & bacon breakfast, then the walk, the beach, then on to Sok Kwu Wan is a great half day. The two times I have been, September and January, there were no crowds. The secret to...More
