Had a good look around Soho but to be honest there are too many western places for my liking as I prefer authentic HK. Kowloon is much more to my liking. Restaurants and bars are extremely expensive as they cater for the ex pat and often wealthy clientele. If you like Western restaurants and bars you will be in your... More

Maybe I'm just getting older. But I prefer the vibe from the bars and restaurants in Soho versus LKF. It's still very lively, but I can sit and have a conversation without getting drowned out by music or someone spilling a drink on our party.

This area looked like it would be the Happening pace at night. Ladies DO NOT WEAR HIGH HEALS IN THIS AREA as the steps and slopes are quite steep

This part of town has nearly everything a person needs in Hong Kong, and it is centrally located so one can easily access everything else in and around Hong Kong from here>

after the Peak we walked over for Garden Road and wandered through the streets of Soho - lots of little shops, boutiques, a market, lots of restaurants. Lots of activity even on a Sunday.

This area is designed for those home sick foreigner or those going for a night out in LKF, that's nothing really local if you want to see how HK people live and eat, this is not the area, although they have some nice restaurant and bar, this is an area for chill out with friends. Most food is western style... More

We visited Soho after a full day of sightseeing and it is a very vibrant area and deffo worth a visit, there are several bars with drinks offers and we ate at Al's diner which was great. Definitely should be on the list for a good night out.

Enjoyed this area, a good mix of bars and food joints so something for everyone. Very easy to reach if coming from Central via foot

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
