Breakfast before Big Buddha

A bar facing the sea on the pier right by the ferry port. Great view for breakfast before catching the bus to Big Buddha

One of the benefits of the China Bear is that you can walk off the ferry after a hard day at work and have a snack and a glass of wine before heading off home. Last night (29/11/16), in an empty China Bear (except for one guy in the corner, and one at the bar) when I ordered a glass... More

Sadly, what could be a nice restaurant spoiled by a very poor lunch offering. The seafood pasta we ordered was flavorless, with a few sad prawns on the plate. The best description I could give for the service we got was "indifferent". We love Lantau, but won't return to this restaurant.

Been coming to Mui Wo and China Bear for >18 years now, and it's such a cool place to unwind after trail running or MTB'ing on Lantau. Great location right next to the ferry pier, sit outside facing the water or inside and watch TV. The food is stable bar fair with Burgers / Fish n Chips, but you can... More

Frequented often and always enjoy the food and drinks. Super friendly staff. New ownership with some tasty new items on the menu.

Ever since the pub has changed hands in 2015, the service and food quality has gone downhill. Okay to stop for a drink since it is a fantastic location by the ferry pier but skip the food; better options in Mui Wo.

You simply cannot miss the restaurant. While on a ferry, it's going to be on your left side. Food is average, but if you are craving for western food (Pizzas, burgers, etc.) and imported-local beers, you will find it suitable for your taste!

We were recommended China Bear by a friend resident in Hong Kong. Late afternoon on a Sunday might have meant too busy and short of fresh food. We couldn't have been more wrong!! The baked snapper with gratin and pesto was truly superb. Not a morsel left on all three plates. Special mention must be made of the pesto which... More

After a trip to the Big Buddha, jumped on the bus down to Mui Wo, and had the best fresh Pesto I have ever had, with baked Snapper... The only downside was that I didn't have long before I had to be on the ferry back to Central! Great service, Great Food, wish I could have stayed longer!

Stopped here to get some grub before heading off to the big Buddha. The muscles were fresh if a bit salty and the pizza was pretty tasty for Asian handiwork. The kind of place where you see lots of expat "locals" hanging about. Would have stayed here and chilled all day.
