Lovely little fishing village with many shops and seafood. Take a boat ride for lovely scenery or take a walk up the mountain to see the White Chinese Dolhins swim.

Fun place for a stop - we wandered through the town and stopped at 3 Lanterns for refreshments. Owner was very friendly and offered to take family photos for us! Fishing village is so unique - houses on stilts, boats & fish everywhere.

We had a tour that included a boat ride through the villiage on stilts. Got to walk through the narrow streets and visited the Daoist temple there

This is a village built on stilts that looks like it is made from whatever was around. The inhabitants are living very traditional lives and are some of the original islanders. Their lives are built on what they get from the sea. It is fascinating...More

Quite disappointing. Very dirty and not pretty. While you can see homes on stilts, it is not really as pretty as pictures suggest. There are no clean toilets anywhere in the area either, so makes it a very very long drive to go to nowhere....More

I did a tour for the day so was not given a choice. We went to Tai O first and follow it up with the Big Buddha, so the village came later.
