Lovely little fishing village with many shops and seafood. Take a boat ride for lovely scenery or take a walk up the mountain to see the White Chinese Dolhins swim.

Consider it as a good afternoon trip to visit this venue. You can catch it as a day tour from some hotels' tour counter. I took mine from tour counter at the foot of Big Buddha. The bus took us though a winding road up and down the hill and finally Tai-O. Upon arrival we were told to follow the... More

If You want to see aplace where time stopped 100 years ago, visit village on stiltts. Take a boat trip for 25 HKD, it is worth it, stroll thoroug the village. It is as real as it can get. A lot of elderly folks who still live their fishermen life, play games, enjoy simple things. So good to be away... More

This is a Beautiful fishing village, and I can not recommend this place enough. We took a boat out which from what I can remember did not cost a lot. It took you around all the little houses, before taking you out towards the sea. The guide did explain to us before we go onto the boat that it would... More

It is a fishing village. We took the cable car to the Big Buddle, the bus 11 to the village. Spent one hour walk in the village and tried some local snacks. The sticky rice ball with red bean was yummy, never had such best one before. If you have enough time, can take a walk on the other side... More

Visited Tai O on a Saturday in January. Took Bus No 11 from Tung Chung on Lantau Island to this village. There were a couple of small museums showing some old items used there decades ago; very informative. The most impressive was the stilted houses. The must visit place was the Three Lanterns Cafe, that was on one of the... More

Tai Wo is a beautiful addition to Ngong Ping. If you have time you MUST visit this place. Take bus no 21 from Ngong Ping village to reach this place. Alternatively you can taxi which charges around HKD 75. In Tai wo you can take a boat ride @ HKD 25 per person which will take you inside the village... More

We initially went to lantau by ngong ping 360 to see the monastery and Big Buddha. Only in the spot we learned you can take about 20min bus ride by a winding road down to Tai O village and it was well worth it. You can see the floating village, take a short boat trip and try some of the... More

The place is relatively quiet and laid-back, very good to escape the bustling city life. Went on the boat tour and was told there would definitely be dolphins (especially in the morning), but (as i somehow expected) there weren't any, so that was quite disappointing as the boat ride was merely into the waters with not much sights along the... Tai O is a MUST-VISIT when you are at Lantau Island. You can reach here by taking bus 21 from the Ngong Ping Village bus stop. The frequency is quite a lot. Here in Tai O it is more laid back and villagey-like. You can also take long walks around the area and enjoy the amazing views of Hong Kong.... More

This place is amazing with over 600 stilt houses on the water. Pathways wind through the village so you can explore their way of life at close range.
