Its like the temple is actually opened for you as the gates are unlocked by the caretaker. Pay a donation and look around and admire the beautiful carvings. There was a guide who kept explaining the carvings to us but we had more information with us on the temple. Finally as we were leaving the usual story of so few... More

During our stay in Singaraja, our driver planned a half day tour for us to Pura Maduwe Karang. We have visited many temples in Bali, from south to north, I am afraid Pura Maduwe Karang may be one out of five top temples on my list. Sarong is a must for visiting, even if you forget to bring your own,... More

Pura Maduwe Karang is one of our plans to visit some temples in Bali. There is an interesting carving temple as point is the first Bicycle comes to Bali in 1904.

I have passed by this temple numerous times during my many visits to Bali but never actually went in---until now. It is located on the main road that runs along the North coast of Bali, between Kubu Tambahan and AIr Sanih. I always love the statues that guard the perimeter of the temple. From the road, the temple looks almost... More

For people who prefer small and quiet temples this is one of the best places to visit. I personally prefer less touristic spots. For that purpose this temple was perfect. The temple has to offer interesting carvings. I think the most well known one is the bicycle. Besides that the guide is also very welcoming and friendly and happy to... More

Nice temple which we visited on way from Pemuteran to Amed, best known for bicycle carving which is hidden on lleft side of main temple in the back. Worth a stop if on the way.

Pura Meduwe Karang is located the North-East of Bali, in village Kubutambahan. It is one of the Buleleng temples. At the entrance there are three rows of Ramayana images. The most famous relief or carving is the cyclist, the Dutch artist W.O.J. Nieuwenkamp.

Visited this temple when travelling from lovina to batur. We were the only visitors and were looking forward to peace and quiet. We were followed by a "guardian" and bothered this was after paying on entry. He was not a very pleasant character at all. The panels are very clear and the bicycle panel is only one of many.

We have been to this beautiful Tempel during our ten day vaccation on Bali. We took notice of it from a website which shared insider locations on Bali. We have been to many tempels on Bali. But this was the most original of them all. You could really feel the spirit within these walls. There were no agressiv guides, no... More
