This is the old city of Batavia. Rundown, picturesque and a great night market.

Very nice and old market, good experience with local food and cheap gifts. Very friendly people. Don't forget to try the Sate, Soto, and the fresh avocado juice

I have been to Jakarta alot and this is the only place I would recommend to tourists seeking an authentic peek at the country's history and heritage. Would highly recommend eating at Cafe Batavia and taking a stroll at the square fronting the Cafe.

One of the handful places in Jakarta which can be categorised as tourist spot. Soak in the atmosphere of old town, enjoy the local sights, museum and food and roam around the square seeing others
