Joined Ronny and Annika's hidden Jakarta tours today. Having lived in Jakarta as a foreigner for almost a year now it was a good eye opener. Very insightful and interesting. Great to see how R and A support the community and in a respectful way introduced us to the communities. Can definitely recommend!

Having two days to spend in Jakarta in late October before heading to Papua, I opted to skip the standard monuments/museums tours and do something quite different. So glad I did! This was an amazing in-depth view into the harsh conditions and life of the very poor in Jakarta. I was the only person that day with Parlim as my... More

In Jakarta for 2 weeks for work I originally searched online for a regular city sights tour. Rather than a generic tour offering, Jakarta Hidden Tours popped up in my search results with many positive reviews. I signed up and glad I did. My two informative and relaxed tour guides (Aldo & Uni) showed me (I was the only tour... More

We would highly recommend the Jakarta Hidden Tour to anyone visiting Jakarta. You get to talk to the locals, meet their children and visit parts of Jakarta you would otherwise probably not see. Half of the entrance fee is donated to the people you visit, so you know you are really helping them by doing the tour. The people are... More

There's plenty of good reasons to join this tour as documented in all the reviews so I just want to add some advice. You may find it hard to absorb all the information and all that you're seeing, even if you think you're taking it in. But that's OK. I realised towards the end that I was a little shell-shocked... My biggest reservation was that this is a little bit expensive at the cost per person in Jakarta. But the reviews were great and we wanted a true look at some of the inaccessible and hidden parts of Jakarta. It's incredible what you see in terms of those less fortunate. The things that I saw left me a little upset... More

Thank you to roni and Angela and sadly I can't remember the other man's name or the other young lady. This tour is very eye opening don't go to jakarta without seeing the other side of the coin, many people live in unbelievable poverty despite the government giving a ridiculously low figure. This tour will take you to the underbelly... More

This was a really interesting tour that took us to places we would never have seen as tourists in Jakarta. You get to meet some lovely people who are very welcoming, especially considering you are strangers walking through their homes. It was an experience to see how people really live below the poverty line, and we felt that we learnt... More

This is a hugely different tour from the average. Ronny takes you on a unique journey through the socio-economic classes and living conditions of Jakarta, providing a lot of context and info about the struggles those at the bottom face on a daily basis. It is at times confronting, but well worth it to gain an insight into this city's... More
